ABOUT THE
PRODUCT
Large tube. Strong adhesive that will seal holes in waders and retain flexibility. Glue large Doll eyes on flies. If mending waders or whatever, give it a day and a half or so to really cure. This is thick, powerful stuff; we do not recommended this product for braided butt loops or nail knots. Be very diligent about securing the cap after use, or the glue will thicken in the applicator tube. Blister pack.
The Zap product line has been a standard around the home, shop workbench, and at the workplace for many years. These products are dependable and of late, are being offered in different consistencies and for different specialized applications that we in the fly fishing fly tying arena really appreciate. Zap products that carry the ÒFly FishingÓ label are usually identical to Zap products that are not blister-packed. The blister pack is important for the consumer because it makes it possible to actually read the instructions for use of each product without pulling out a magnifying glass. The packaging is useful for the retailer because it enhances visibility, display options, and attractiveness of the various products.
Zap is famous for durable and/or permanent bonding of suitable materials. All of these products should be used with caution. Fingers can occasionally get glued together. Upon air removal bonding is instant. ÊIf you put a drop on your finger tip and let it sit it will not dry for quite a while Ð but Ð if you squeeze another finger on the drop you are instantly stuck! Not fun. Fortunately, Zap offers a Òde-bondingÓ product. We consider this little jar a must-have for the fly bench.
Zap glues include thin, moderate, thick, and extra gooey consistencies. The standard Zap is what we would refer to as moderate thickness. Zap glues dry at various speeds with the standard and thin varieties bonding very quickly and the gel and goo varieties drying more slowly. The Zap accelerator will reduce bond-time.
